Herbal medicine

Herbal medicine or „phytotherapy“ is one of the oldest healing methods and is practiced on all continents and in all cultures.
It is used for the prevention and treatment of diseases and disorders.
Various effective plant components such as flowers, leaves, roots, seeds and barks are used. They are usually used fresh or dried as an infusion (tea) or as preparations in tinctures. Externally, they are also used in the form of ointments, baths and essential oils.
Chinese herbal medicine has been a proven cure for more than two millennia. For some time, attempts have been made to work with Western medicinal plants according to criteria of Chinese medicine. I use this method -often in addition to acupuncture treatments – in my clinic. It allows me to get to know many of the plants in their natural environment. The locations, the appearance of flowers, herbs and roots often give an indication of their potential applications. Phytotherapy can be used in support of other therapies.
